Update interview about future plans for the Northside Library
from WIZM - La Crosse Talk Interviews · host WIZM News Staff
A plan for re-using La Crosse’s former north-side library has been endorsed by a commission. The Economic and Development Committee voted in closed session Wednesday to accept a proposal from the north-side citizens group to buy the Kane Street building. Area contractor Chris Weiss said the group would need $843,000 over the next three years to buy and repair the 80-year-old building and obtain new equipment and furniture for future use. That Northside Neighborhood Center Foundation’s plan for the building includes making some repairs, as well as remodeling the interior for multiple uses, including potentially an arts center or wellness center.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
