Updates in Management of ICU Delirium

from ASHPOfficial · host American Society of Health-System Pharmacists©

Intensive care unit (ICU) delirium is a common and severe manifestation of critical illness. It can occur in up to 80% of mechanically ventilated ICU patients and leads to longer lengths of stay and increases the risk of mortality. The etiology of ICU delirium is not well-elucidated, making pharmacological treatments difficult to target. This podcast will discuss the risk factors, definitions, and treatment of ICU delirium. The information presented during the podcast reflects solely the opinions of the presenter.
