Upper Merion Township proposes $200 million sports stadium and entertainment district
from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand
King of Prussia wants to be known for sports as much as it already is for shopping. Officials in Upper Merion, Montgomery County want to develop a stadium to host professional baseball and soccer teams. The township is proposing a $200 million entertainment district at the Moore Park business complex. That's near the Valley Forge Casino Resort. The stadium would hold about 7,500 people. That could suit a minor league baseball team or a women's pro soccer squad. The chairwoman of the board of supervisors tells the Business Journal that the planning process is contingent on state funding. So far, the township has not been awarded grant money for the project.
