UPSTAGING TRUCKING FOR ROCK & COUNTRY INDUSTRY. We sat down with Upstaging Inc. and talked about everything from all the rock and roll plus country stars they have hauled for. What it's like and the perks of being a driver for Upstaging. How long a driver has to be on the road when on tour. What job duties a driver has. We sat down with Deanna Plaggmeyer, a long time driver and now driver recruiter for Upstaging. She helped us understand this very unique and interesting trucking company that handle mega concerts throughout the United States and Canada. Upstaging Inc. has been providing logistics and transportation needs for the entertainment industry for 50 years. With it's corporate office at 821 Park Avenue Sycamore, IL 60178 they are strategically located dab smack in the middle of the country. According to the FMCSA.gov page, they have roughly 196 Semi-trucks on the road. This makes them one of the, if not the largest entertainment trucking company in the United States. Covid times. Upstaging is not only a provider for the entertainment industry but is now servicing other industries such as the medical field. When the "covid times" hit, Upstaging was faced with a dilemma. Now that the entire entertainment industry was at a stand still, as far as "live entertainment" goes. There was not a single entertainer that could put on a show due to the fact the the now "social distancing" was in full effect. That meant no more than 50 to a crowd! You can only imagine how devastating that was to a carrier like upstaging, who relied on entertainers that attracted large crowds. Upstaging was used to handling shows that attracted numbers like 30,000 people and at times much much more. The Upstaging team did not give up at this time. They went ahead with their fleet and utilized it where it made sense. they started gathering customers they could provide transportation needs for. It worked and they are now fully operational like a well oiled machine. Two Companies in One As the Covid restriction reduce and hopefully disappear, Upstaging now will have two operations they will be servicing. Logistics for regular customers and of course the entertainment industry. Of course their number one priority is the customers that have gotten them where they are today but upstaging will now have a little different division of themselves. This is great news for driver that wish to get home a little more than the average tour driver. For the last 50 years, if you were a tour driver, you were probably on the road for 3 to 6 months at a time. This is common practice being the "show" must go on which means a driver had to stay with the tour till it ended. The new little division with in Upstaging will now allow driver to see their house allot more than the average tour driver.
