In their debut performance with the Virginia Arts Festival,UBW will present the world premiere of "Hair and Other Stories", an evening-length work that addresses matters of race, gender identity and economic inequality through the lens of physic al appearance, including the cultural significance of African American women's hair. On the next Another View we will meet members of the dance troupe, including founder and artistic director Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, and dancer Courtney Cook, and find out how they use real life stories from right here in Hampton Roads as part of their performance!
