Candyman is a “fictional” horror villain, a vengeful spirit who can be summoned by saying his name five times into a mirror. The character is the subject of the Candyman film series, which is based on Clive Barker's short story "The Forbidden". The origin story of Daniel Robitaille, the man behind the legend, involves a tragic murder in the 19th century for a forbidden interracial affair, where he was killed by a mob, had his hand replaced by a hook, and was covered in bees.
