Tonight’s selection is curated by the one and only Edith den Doosch, aka Tante Edith (Tante = Auntie, for the non-Dutch among you). If you don’t know her: buckle up. Edith is a true veteran of Dutch radio: a fierce lover of soul, funk, disco, jazz-funk and everything in between. She started spinning in clubs way back in the early '80s, but quickly found her natural habitat: the airwaves. From dodgy pirate stations in Amsterdam to national radio, she ruled the mic with razor-sharp rhymes, naughty metaphors, and and slightly cheeky commentary, all before your mum even bought her first CD. Fast forward to now: We crossed paths five years ago, talked a lot about music, and decided to team up this year: Edith picked the tunes, I mixed them. So for the next hour, the radio is no longer a radio. It's a soulful time machine. Edith’s flying it, I’m somewhere in the back pressing buttons, and together we’re taking you on a wild trip through house oldies, soulful gems and unexpected detours.
