US Senator screams profanities at 85 yr old Dr. Fauci - what are we doing?
from Hope For America with Heather Delaney Reese · host Heather Delaney Reese
Yesterday a Senate hearing that should have been about protecting Americans became a public attempt to humiliate Dr. Anthony Fauci, an 85-year-old scientist who spent more than 50 years serving the country. Senator Bernie Moreno screamed profanity at him, Rand Paul threatened repercussions, Josh Hawley mocked his constitutional rights, and Republican senators treated silence as guilt even though the hearing itself was designed to trap him. The cruelty was not separate from the larger story. While they tried to turn a public health hero into a criminal, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the Trump administration have gutted the health agencies that are supposed to protect us, measles is surging, parasite cases are exploding, and even routine newborn care is being poisoned by misinformation. This is what happens when propaganda replaces public service.Based on the events of 7-29-2026The Breakdown:* Senator Bernie Moreno erupted at Dr. Anthony Fauci during a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing and shouted, "Who the f*ck do you think you were for doing that?"* Moreno aimed his anger at Fauci over a mother arrested nearly six years earlier after refusing to comply with a local mask requirement at a middle-school football game.* Fauci, now 85, remained composed while senators blamed, mocked, and tried to humiliate him for following public health evidence during COVID.* Moreno called Fauci a "megalomaniac," attacked his attorney David Schertler, and demanded an apology Fauci could not safely give.* Fauci repeatedly answered, "On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my rights under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution."* Fauci said Senator Rand Paul's obsession with prosecuting him, public attacks, and release of his unredacted diary made the hearing look like an effort to get him "behind bars."* Former President Biden's pardon protects Fauci for federal offenses through January 2025, but any new testimony could create new exposure if twisted into a perjury trap.* Rand Paul warned Fauci there would be "repercussions" and announced a contempt vote for August fifth.* Ron Johnson suggested Fauci could not answer truthfully without incriminating himself, while Josh Hawley mocked the Fifth Amendment by saying, "Nothing says honesty like taking the Fifth."* When Fauci's attorney tried to speak for his client, Rand Paul had him physically removed from the room as the audience applauded.* Fauci served under seven presidents, led the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for 38 years, helped fight AIDS, anthrax, Ebola, Zika, and COVID, and helped make PEPFAR possible.* PEPFAR has saved an estimated 25 million lives across more than 50 countries, and George W. Bush awarded Fauci the Presidential Medal of Freedom.* Trump took credit for the COVID vaccine developed with help from Fauci's institute and gave Fauci a Presidential Commendation on January 19, 2021, before supporting the movement that now wants him punished.* More than 155 scientists, AIDS activists, and public health advocates signed a letter calling Fauci "a national hero" and condemning years of harassment and threats.* Robert F. Kennedy Jr. now leads the nation's health department after decades of spreading vaccine fear and profiting from vaccine injury lawsuits.* Kennedy has fired about 20,000 health department employees, including thousands from the FDA and CDC, and replaced the entire independent vaccine advisory panel with handpicked members including skeptics and conspiracy theorists.* The CDC has reported 2,318 confirmed measles cases this year, the highest number in 35 years, after measles had been declared eliminated in the United States in 2000.* Nearly 18,000 Americans have been infected with a parasite causing severe diarrhea, and vitamin K shot refusals for newborns have risen 77 percent since 2017, leaving babies at risk of fatal bleeding. This commentary represents my personal opinions and analysis of matters of public concern, informed by publicly available information.
