US Soccer TV Pioneer Dermot McQuarrie; Chris Wittyngham on the Super League & More

Grant is joined (at 46:15) by Dermot McQuarrie, a former Fox Sports TV executive who was a pioneer in the addition of European soccer leagues to U.S. television in the late 1990s and early 2000s. McQuarrie tells the origin stories of Fox Sports World, the Fox Soccer Channel and the Fox Soccer Report, as well as why that daily soccer news show was based in Winnipeg, Canada. McQuarrie's experience provides perspective on how the U.S. has gone from being one of the world's worst countries in which to watch soccer to one of the best. Before that, Grant and Chris Wittyngham break down the week in soccer, from new thoughts on the Super League demise to how that fits in the American context. They also discuss the dismissal of José Mourinho by Spurs, the European trophies being won by USMNT players and the highlights of the MLS weekend.
