US takes out Iranian tanker's rudder after ignoring blockade

U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet fired on and disabled the Iranian-flagged oil tanker M/T Hasna in the Gulf of Oman after its crew ignored repeated warnings.The Strike: The fighter jet, launched from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, used its 20mm cannon to strike the tanker’s rudder, the underwater mechanism used for steering.The Goal: The mission was specifically intended to disable the vessel's ability to maneuver rather than sink it, ensuring it could no longer proceed toward an Iranian port.Vessel Status: The M/T Hasna was unladen (carrying no oil) at the time of the engagement.
