USAID's programs in the region promote trade and investment

Despite a new administration in Washington, the commitment of the United States to Africa's development remains unwavering. That's the assurance from the new USAID/Southern Africa Mission Director, John Groarke, who will be responsible for all USAID programming in the SADeC region for the next 4 years. USAID's programs in the region promote trade and investment, combat gender-based violence, increase basic literacy and support the South African government to fight the duel epidemics of HIV/AIDS and TB, amongst others.
