This app brings social media to the neighborhood it has some unique features that are making this app the fastest growing social media app used by public safety and the community. Guest BioJoseph Porcelli currently serves as a Public Agency Lead and “Professional Neighbor” for Nextdoor. In this role, Joseph focuses on providing engagement strategies to aid government partners utilizing Nextdoor’s free government interface to build stronger, safer, and more resilient communities. Some of Joseph’s most notable partnerships successes are with the Chicago Fire Department, NYC Office of Emergency Management, and the White House’s 21st Century Community Policing Data Initiative.Before joining Nextdoor, Joseph established the Community Engagement consulting practice at GovDelivery which created Community.FEMA.gov, served as the nation's first Community Engagement Strategist for the Department of Homeland Security, and worked in the Neighborhood Watch Unit of the Boston Police Department. Joseph believes the well-being of society depends on the diversity and the strength of bonds we make with our neighbors.
