Utah Basketball's Transfer Boom: New Faces, New Hope

Utah mens basketball underwent a significant roster overhaul, losing eleven players to the transfer portal and two more to eligibility. Coach Alex Jensen, now in his second season, has locked in four transfers, international talent, and the 2026 recruiting class, with key returners Lucas Langarita and Babacar Faye. The team has targeted defense and skill gaps, adding defensive standouts like Jackson Holcombe and TJ Burch, playmaking guard Noam Yaacov, and post scorer Fynn Schott. The international recruits bring club ball polish from leagues like the BNXT and Bundesliga, mimicking successful squads like Illinois Balkan crew. Despite roster continuity taking another hit, most newcomers have at least two years left, giving Jensen a shot to build real culture and foundation heading into next season.
