Ute Mountain Ute Farm: Part 2

from KBUT · host KBUT

The Ute Mountain Ute Tribe operates a large farm in southwest Colorado. They grow crops such as alfalfa and corn and have more than 600 head of cattle. The tribe went through a long process to obtain water rights to operate the farm. But just because the they have the farm and water rights doesn't mean they can use all they want. Austin Cope of community radio station KSJD in Cortez reports for the Western Slope Resources Reporting project.
