UTEP men’s basketball is reloading its coaching staff for the 2026-27 season with big hires: Patrice Days, a top recruiter and former ACU assistant who helped Mississippi State reach the NCAA Tournament three straight years, joins alongside Joseph Jones, a Hall of Fame Texas A&M player and WAC Coach of the Year who led Tarleton to a school-record 25 wins. Drew Lakey, already on staff, moves to full-time assistant. Golding’s moves signal a serious push to build a winning program with proven talent, elite recruiting, and deep player development expertise.
