UTSA Lands Versatile Guard JJ Kelly | UTSA Roadrunners Basketball News

UTSA just added a multi-talented beast to their 2026-27 roster: 6’6” guard JJ Kelly, the fourth signee this spring under head coach Austin Claunch. A former all-time leading scorer at Chambersburg Area High School with over 1,900 points, Kelly also dominated track (state champ in triple jump & high jump) and football (Division I offers). In his freshman year at Ohio, he averaged 8.6 points and 3.8 rebounds while leading the team in blocks (26) and scoring in 14 games. Claunch raves about Kelly’s athleticism, versatility, and energy — a perfect fit to elevate UTSA’s style and bring instant impact. This signing signals UTSA’s serious push for the future, bringing a rare blend of basketball grit, track discipline, and football instincts to the court.
