UVALDE, TEXAS

from Safety Wars · host James Poesl

Jim's comments on the Uvalde mass murder scene and another solution. Placing public schools under the jurisdiction of OSHA is an option here. The ineffectiveness of many local schools begs the need for Federal involvement with teeth. This would obviously need for OSHA to hire more compliance officers, but giving teachers the same rights as everyone else to a safe and healthful workplace free of recognized hazards would go a long way to protecting both teachers and students. The recent Covid-19 pandemic underscores the need for effective management of school safety and protecting school workers.
