V8SP: Richard Hay

from The V8 Sleuth Podcast · host Motorsport Podcast Network

This week’s V8 Sleuth Podcast guest might be better known for their voice than their name, having played a key role in Bathurst 1000 broadcasts and Channel 7’s touring car racing coverage through the mid-1980s and 1990s. Englishman Richard Hay was in Australia recently and caught up with Noonz to chat about his memories of Mount Panorama, working under Mike Raymond and alongside the likes of Garry Wilkinson, Neil Crompton and Doug Mulray. He also talks about how his father Neville became involved in motorsport commentary and how that in-turn led him to being a cameraman, commentator, producer and presenter across his career in motorsport media. He also shares some fun tales from his time as a racer himself, including taking part in the Le Mans 24 Hours!
