I start by sharing some concepts of the basics of Compassion; edifying moments and our resilience zone, which became lived experiences as I welcomed my sister for a visit last week. Amazonia called me back to this mission of telling her stories in the form of a priceless gift; Amazonia, an extraordinary book by Sebastiáo Salgado. His powerful words and sublime images serve as the perfect preface to the news reports emerging from COP30, contradictory opinions, insufficient action, perhaps too many promises and empty words. The fact is, the indigenous peoples have been left out of the main event and Amazonia continues burning and being decimated. Will we care enough to save the heart of the Earth?
