There has been a traditional ways we have been doing ministry, which we have seen over 15 years of Cross-Way’s life and through us to our vision-churches. It’s time, after 15th anniversary to re-think, re-imagine, thus “re-Vision a church.” The purpose of this series is to focus on key areas (aspects) of being a church in context. Need for the series is prompted by- a. the new building, b. the COVID-impacted context for ministry, c. refining “ministry model” necessary, we’ve been considering over past few years, d. certain confusions created by church and ministries we’ve seen elsewhere, and our own pre-conceived notions about church and its purpose and functions, e. and perhaps, Pastor Arbin’s studies over past 7-years on church and pastoral formation focus. What kind of church do we want to be known for and become, as our children are watching keenly? What vision and aspirations do we fill their hearts and desires and imaginations for/about the church? Essentially what is church as it exists in the mind of Triune-God, Jesus the founder (life death and resurrection) and Holy Spirit our God-with-us-now? And church (ministries) as it exists in the hearts and minds of our pastors/leaders and members. Where do we want to invest our lives and resources in? Therefore, we hope to set a pace of life (Rhythm) at xWay for these values we believe church to be, and help each member get on board. (I think this will help people understand our message better).
