Valery Tobias on joining the brooks beast, pushing through self doubt, attending UT and more

from Running In Circles · host Zach Hamilton

Today I have the pleasure of speaking with Valery Tobias. Valery recently graduated from the university of Texas and joined the professional running team “the brooks beasts”. She specializes in the 800 where she holds a personal best of 2:00.31 but she also dabbles in the 400 and the 1500. Back in high school she was a three time state champion and most recently she finished 6th at the 2023 NCAA outdoor championship! In this conversation we discuss her love for crocheting, and how it has been therapeutic for her, her favorite memories from living with her teammates at Texas, overcoming her self doubt and more. Please consider leaving a five star review on wherever you listen because it takes less than 10 seconds and really helps the podcast grow which helps the inspiring stories of athletes reach as many people as possible.
