Values to LIVE By.

from Purpose, Passion, Profit Hosted by Ken Eash

Insights for today's episode come from both John Maxwell and Socrates. Life is much simpler if we align our actions with who God created us to be, and establish a set of core values to steer our decisions. I challenge you to identify your fundamental values (mine are "growth" and "impact") and to consistently measure your life against these benchmarks. Knowing your 'why' can profoundly influence your journey towards personal and professional fulfillment. If you follow the steps in this episode, you'll come away with a clearer map to guide your life.

I love collecting quotes that inspire me, and one that particularly resonates with me is by John Maxwell. It speaks to integrity, emphasizing the importance of being whole and single-minded, with nothing to hide or fear. It underscores the idea of establishing a clear system of values against which all actions are evaluated. This notion of authenticity and integrity being key to leadership and personal growth is something I deeply believe in. Socrates' wisdom also comes to mind, highlighting the notion of being true to oneself and aligning actions with reality. It stresses the significance of being authentic to who we truly are, rather than trying to portray an image that is not genuine. This idea of authenticity ties in with the concept of being beneficial to others and making a positive impact in the world. It suggests that personal development and growth should be geared towards being a useful and impactful individual. Reflecting on these quotes, I am reminded of the importance of knowing one's values and purpose. For me, these values revolve around growth and impact - every action I take is measured against these principles. If an opportunity doesn't contribute to personal or impactful growth, then it may not align with my core values. While I acknowledge that I may not always succeed in upholding these values, they serve as a compass to guide my decisions and actions. I encourage you to contemplate your own values and determine what principles resonate with you. Identifying these core values can serve as a foundation for making choices that align with who you are and what you aim to achieve. By distilling your values into succinct terms like growth and impact, you can assess every opportunity that comes your way through this lens. Ultimately, striving to live by these values can lead to a fulfilling and purpose-driven life.
