Van Hollen Eyes 2028 Presidential Run | US News

Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen is quietly exploring a 2028 presidential run, signaling Democrats need a bold, unified vision to compete with Republicans—and he’s not chasing Senate leadership. He’s pushing for deeper party debate on what the Democratic Party truly stands for, calling for more than just opposition to the current administration. As other top Democrats like Newsom, Beshear, and Ocasio-Cortez also eye the race, Van Hollen sees the chatter as healthy, urging voters to look forward—not backward—and positioning himself as part of shaping that future.
