Now, Musk and JD Vance are questioning the authority of the judicial branch of government to serve as a check on executive power. They are pushing back against a federal judge's decision blocking Musk's Department of Government Efficiency from accessing Treasury Department records. In doing so, top Trump administration officials are questioning the legitimacy of judicial oversight.
