hello everybody welcome back to another episode of broken record my name is ellie i'm your host and today we're going to be talking about vance joy because vance joy is currently on tour in our own sweet time tour and i got to see me in concert on saturday vance joy was performing in seattle on march 3rd and march 4th and i was able to go to the march 4th concert and i have a blast i love vance joy i love his opener jackbots i actually never heard of jackbots before the concert but i love him he was a little cutie they're both australian which also makes me really happy because i love listening to people's accents from like foreign countries and it made me really happy but anyway so vance joy's on tour his opener jackbots was adorable he was very like gave off nature vibes in like the best way possible like you could just tell he loves surfing he loves like spending time in nature and that just made me really happy because he just seems like he was having so much fun and it was really cute so i'm gonna play a little bit of jackbots's music isn't he such a cutie like that song is adorable if i'm not mistaken i think it's called slow warnings i believe that's what he said but i'm not 100 sure so don't quote me on that but i love that song i thought it was so cute it made me so smiley yeah he's such a cutie so i'm gonna play another song by jackbots oh he's such a cutie i love that song that was just a quick little clip but it was adorable and i think the guitar is so pretty yeah now i want to talk about vance joy the headliner of this tour the main attraction this actually wasn't my first time seeing vance joy i thought it was but it's actually not i did see vance joy open for taylor swift in the 1989 world tour which was in 2015 so i did get to hear vance joy perform which was kind of crazy to me because i thought that it was i didn't know i didn't remember that he had opened for taylor before so it was fun but yeah back back to back to vance joy he's such a cutie he was outstanding he was adorable and he did play riptide which is the song i think most people know him for it's like the first song you learn to play when you're learning the ukulele like it's just an iconic song it was so fun to hear it live because every single person in the room knew the words to the song and they were screaming it and it was such like a cute moment it was adorable so here's a little bit of riptide by vance joy that song is so good it just makes me so happy there's something about hearing iconic songs live that just like tickles my brain speaking of iconic songs live he also covered an abba song what he covered gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight i love that song that reminds me of mamma mia one of my favorite movies my favorite movie to watch with my mom and i love that song and i'm so happy that i got to hear it live because i i've said this before about various different artists but i locked it in my brain that i wasn't gonna hear abba perform live i wasn't gonna hear those songs performed live but i did and that makes me so happy it's like a little checked off box in my mind it's it made me so happy it was so fun because everyone knew the words too and it was it just made me so happy and i love it forever always so here is vance joy singing gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight that song just makes me so happy it just makes me want to get up and dance like oh my gosh it makes me so happy i love it so much um yeah it was so fun yeah the next song i want to talk about is the last song i'm gonna play i know very sad but i didn't take a lot of videos this concert because i was trying to be in the moment but my sister was not able to go to the concert because she actually i was gonna say because she's in phoenix in college but she actually isn't in phoenix she's back home because it's spring break but yeah she wasn't able to go she was at the sounders game and she sent me a list of songs that like if you play this you need to record it so this was one of the songs i recorded it's called fire in the flood and it'll be the last song i play and i'll talk to you a little bit after but i love this song so much so here is the fire in the flood i love that song so much it's so good um but yeah thank you so much for listening to this episode about vance joy and his concert in seattle on march 4 2023 at the baremount theater and it was so good and i recommend seeing vance joy live if you ever have the chance because it was just so fun it was so smiling everyone was very chill it was very it was a nice concert to go to so yeah thank you so much for listening to this episode of broken record my name is ellie i am your host and i host this show every tuesday at 6 p.m on 88 9th bridge if you can't make it then that is okay you can search up kmh broken record on any podcast streaming platform and you'll be able to find me in all previous episodes and you can give them a listen so yeah thank you so much for listening to 88 9th bridge
