Vance Returns to Iowa Rally | San Antonio News

Vice President JD Vance is back in Iowa for a high-stakes rally in Council Bluffs, rallying support for Republican Senate and gubernatorial candidates while sharpening his own political profile. Though the Senate race features a winner who can’t attend, governor’s race contender Zach Lahn is expected to join Vance, highlighting a key district with an open seat. This marks Vance’s second Iowa trip this year, following a May focus on economic policy and the GOP’s current political climate. He’s been a frequent campaign surrogate for the administration, traveling to bolster Republican contenders nationwide. Meanwhile, Iowa Republicans recently took a stand on foreign policy, voting on Iran-related measures — a move that underscores how global events ripple into domestic politics. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is watching closely, framing Vance’s visits as evidence that voters are frustrated with economic priorities and holding GOP officials accountable for rising costs.
