Vanderbilt vs. LSU Predictions: SEC Football Week 8

Chris Lee and Chase Robinson preview LSU’s road trip to (according to FanDuel) favored Vanderbilt on Saturday, a game shown on ABC at 11. Topics include: It’s a strength-on-strength matchup between Vanderbilt’s offense and LSU’s defense. Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea was LSU coach Brian Kelly’s defensive coordinator at Notre Dame. The Commodores also throw the ball well, but a secondary led by transfers Mansoor Delane and AJ Haulcy has been tough. LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier has played banged-up all year and that appears to have hampered his performance. LSU’s offense has struggled, but receivers like Nic Anderson, Barion Brown and tight end Trey’Dez Green could give the Tigers an athletic advantage against Vanderbilt’s defense. The Commodores' defense has slipped lately, as Vandy allowed 35 and 30 points in their past two games. But Vanderbilt had a bye week coming in, and a week of rest could help.
