Vayishlach: Aliyah 4

Yaakov pleads for Esav to accept his tribute — to which Esav eventually does. Yaakov and Esav split up: Esav to Seir and Yaakov to Succos. Yaakov lives in Succos for some time and then travels to Shechem where he buys some land and sets up an altar to G-d. In today’s Aliyah, I talk about the angels that Esav encounters on the way to meet Yaakov — a fascinating story that is rarely heard of or talked about.
