Sometimes I thought— I had to be responsible for the outcome. For the applause. For being understood. As if the moment something wasn’t done well enough, my value would shrink with it. Even the smallest mistake could throw everything off inside me. But… is that really true? People often say, in the end, everyone is mostly thinking about themselves. So all that quiet anxiety— who’s really amplifying it? What results actually leave behind is just experience. And those standards we’ve been taught to chase— honestly… you can let them go. ⸻ It took me a while to see— that was never my job. The only thing I’m really responsible for is one simple thing. Showing up. ⸻ Showing up when I’m not ready. Showing up when I feel a little afraid. Showing up when I have no idea what will happen. And speaking from where I am. Even if it’s not perfect. Even if it’s not smooth. ⸻ Because when I show up, the world has space to respond. As for when that response will come— maybe I don’t need to know yet.
