Veera Mahajan is a businesswoman, writer and a mother of two grown sons.  She is a philanthropist who believes in giving back to her community. To help raise funds for cancer research and battling leukemia, Veera ran the 2004 and 2006 Detroit Free Press Marathon. By running up 70 floors of Renaissance, the tallest building in Detroit in 2006 and 2007 she helped raise funds for the Lung Association. Veera have authored a book called UNREPORTED: Domestic Abuse is an UNREPORTED crime and Learning to L.I.V.E. free is a journey... It is a guide for awareness of domestic abuse and a how-to get out of abusive situations. She has also finished a screenplay entitled Unreported that is based on her book. The name ‘Unreported’ comes from knowing that domestic abuse is an unreported crime.
