Velazquez on Fire for Guardians | Cleveland Guardians News

Ralphy Velazquez is on an absolute tear in Triple-A, crushing his 23rd and 24th homers of the season in a doubleheader — and he’s not slowing down. His August surge alone has him with 11 homers in just 14 games, leading the minors with power and consistency. With a .408 OPS and .964 slugging percentage this month, he’s dominating the plate and proving he’s ready for the big leagues. Promoted from Double-A in May, he’s been a force all season, now making a strong case to be called up as Cleveland’s struggling first base situation desperately needs firepower. The Guardians are showing faith in young talent — and Velazquez is putting himself squarely on the radar for a September call-up.
