Vendría la Paz (Peace would come)

from donpiruli

Lyrics: Gloria Fuertes Music: María García Performed by: María García and pupils from 6th grade of Gloria Fuertes School. Nowdays, there are still thousands of people waiting in our borders the moment to invade us. But the invaders of today don’t have weapons. The only force they have is the hope of finding a better world than one they left behind. The name of these new “invaders” is REFUGEES and most of them come to our countries running away from the war and the misery in their countries of origin. If Gloria Fuertes, the woman who gives the name to our school, lived today, her poetry would be on the side of them, as shown the following verses of her Ignored Island. If somebody comes to this island I am I hope he finds something; Spring of lighted poems And waterfalls of peace is what I have Because Gloria’s poetry is the poetry of people in need of all ages, not only the kids, though probably the kids are the most needy and vulnerable beings. Maybe that is precisely why their parents seek refuge among us: to give them what any father or mother would wish for their children: safety and future. In a year so special for us, when we celebrate her birth centenary, Gloria couldn’t be ignored in our Erasmus project. This is for you, Gloria. If all the politicians turn into pacifists Peace would come May another war not happen again But if it happened May all the soldiers go on strike! (twice) If somebody comes to this island I am I hope he finds something; Spring of lighted poems And waterfalls of peace is what I have Freedom is not to have a good boss, But not to have anyone My party is the PEACE I am the leader I don’t ask for votes I just ask for boots for the barefoot There are still so many If somebody comes to this island I am I hope he finds something; Spring of lighted poems And waterfalls of peace is what I have (3 times) If all the politicians turn into pacifists Peace would come
