Venerable Alypios, Iconographer of the Kiev Near Caves, and Martyrs Paul and Juliana of Syria

from Saints and Scripture · host Saints and Scripture

Today we remember Venerable Alypios, one of the first and most gifted Russian iconographers who lived and worked in the Kiev Caves Monastery. Known for his humility and miracles, he painted icons without asking for payment and was aided by angels in his work. We also honor the Holy Martyrs Paul and Juliana of Syria, siblings who boldly confessed their faith in Christ under Emperor Aurelian. Despite severe tortures and attempts to break their spirit, they remained steadfast and were ultimately beheaded for their faith.Support the show
