Venerable Makarios, Abbot of Zheltovod and Unzha

Today we remember Venerable Makarios, a devoted monk and founder of monasteries in Russia during the 14th and 15th centuries. From a young age, he dedicated his life to prayer, fasting, and spreading the Christian faith among local peoples. Makarios faced many challenges, including captivity by the Kazan Tatars and the destruction of his monastery. Yet through his faith and humility, he continued to serve God and his community until his peaceful repose at the age of 95.Support the show
