Venerable Theodosius of the Kiev Far Caves: Father of Russian Monasticism

Today we remember Venerable Theodosius of the Kiev Far Caves, known as the Father of monasticism in Russia. From a young age, Theodosius was drawn to the ascetic life, dedicating himself to prayer, fasting, and service at the monastery near Kiev. As igumen, or abbot, he led by example with humility and hard work. He cared deeply for the poor and the unjustly condemned, building a courtyard to feed those in need. His life of prayer and service continues to inspire many.Support the show
