Venerable Xenophon of Robeika and Saints Sergius and Herman of Valaam

Today we remember Venerable Xenophon, Abbot of Robeika near Novgorod, a devoted disciple of Saint Barlaam of Khutyn. Xenophon lived a life of deep asceticism, founding a monastery by the Robeika River and guiding a small community of monks with humility and faith. We also honor Saints Sergius and Herman, the Wonderworkers of Valaam, who settled on the island of Valaam in 1329. They helped spread Christianity in a challenging frontier region and are remembered for their holy lives and missionary work among the Karelian people.Support the show
