Today it has been reported that the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will intervene with the political situation in Venezuela by meeting the country’s foreign minister last week. This comes after the country has experienced multiple protests in the past weeks calling for the removal of President Nicolas Maduro. Already, the opposition leader Juan Guaido has declared himself as president with the support of fifty countries including the United States supporting him.
