Erwin Arieta Valera, the former President of OPEC & Venezuelan Oil Minister from 1994-1999 gave us a unique perspective on what's happened to Venezuela in the last 20 years since he took office. However, Hugo Chavez would later win the presidency, dismiss him from office and later villainize him for implementing those policies. Fearing for his safety, Mr. Arieta fled Venezuela in 2007 and now resides in Miami, Florida.
