It’s the hottest planet in our solar system, 15. even though Mercury is closer to the Sun.   //16. Surface temperatures on Venus 17. are about 900 degrees Fahrenheit (475 degrees Celsius) – 18. hot enough to melt lead.   //19. The surface is a rusty color 20. and it’s peppered with intensely crunched mountains 21. and thousands of large volcanoes.   //22. Scientists think it’s possible 23. some volcanoes are still active.  //24.
