Vermont Kids Lead Civic Challenge | Montpelier News

Vermont’s “Good Citizen Challenge” is smashing records, with 190 kids completing over 1,800 civic tasks this year—everything from visiting historic sites to cleaning up parks. Launched in 2018, the month-long program, run by Seven Days and WCAX, teaches young people how government works while rewarding them with gift cards and a trip to Washington, D.C. Participants were honored at the Statehouse and will receive a special legislative proclamation in March. It’s a powerful reminder that civic duty starts early—and these kids are leading the way.
