Veronica Mars, S01E20- M.A.D.

from Spoil Me · host Natasha Kingston

Thank you to Rachel for sponsoring this episode of Veronica Mars, which makes me a liar because it's sneaking in just before my Christmas vacation and thus my announcement last episode about no more VM until 2019 is not true. Unless you're a regular listener rather than a Patron! In which case, Happy New Year! This episode has one of the more simultaneously silly and upsetting case-of-the-weeks that we've seen on the show thus far. First, the silly part: there's a girl freaking out because her ex might share a video of her...erotically eating a popsicle. The video is just so tame that I thought there had to be more to it, but nope! That appears to be it. I guess she's skinny-dipping while she eats the popsicle, but when Veronica asks if it's a video of the two of them having sex, this girl says, "Worse!" and I'm sorry but I fail to see how this is worse. The upsetting part is that this girl is being held hostage in an abusive relationship by a piece of shit asshole who gets off on controlling her, and in the end he decides to release the video anyway because since she refuses to be with him, he will "ruin her". In other words, this video will make her worthless in the eyes of anyone who sees it. And then we find out that this poor girl doesn't remember doing what's in the video, because she was fucking drugged. And this happens at the same party Veronica was drugged and raped. And who sold him the drugs? Fucking LOGAN. Ugh. I hate this reveal. Thanks so much for listening, everyone, and I will see you in a week or so with a new episode!
