Suomen elokuvasäätiö tuki Parvet-elokuvan tuotantoa noin puolella miljoonalla eurolla veronmaksajien rahoista. Myös Yleisradio oli mukana tukemassa elokuvan tuotantoa. Ensi-iltaviikonloppunaan elokuvan näki vain alle 90 ihmistä. Elokuva oli tuotantoprosessista alkaen sangen erikoinen.
