Vertex Interview DISCLAIMER

from 60 Cycle Hum: The Guitar Podcast! · host Ryan & Steve

Hey everyone. Ryan and I recorded this two days after the Vertex episode went live. It was recorded in hindsight after we were shown a lot of information that we previously didn't know in full. I've backdated this short recording so that it will show up in the feed in a way that makes sense in the future. The following show notes are taken from the notes for the interview itself. Ryan posted this episode on TGP and we took some hits for it. It got reposted and here's the result. At the time of the interview I (Steve) was only aware of the Axis wah issues (Ryan had completely forgotten about it), and not everything else that was detailed in Mason's TGP confession here. Shortly after that, Michael Landau (who was mentioned in the episode) made the following post here, and Vertex's story about board assembly is refuted here. Joe Bonamassa also has a story to tell here. There's also some back and forth on another site here. There are some really big red flags here that we weren't fully aware of. In the eyes of those who were involved with his past, Vertex/Mason is not a brand that should ever be trusted by the gear world. Those of you who are long time listeners know that we consistently err on giving someone a second chance when it comes to reforming their brand. For those who got burned, or watched others get burned in this debacle, the second, third, fourth, etc. chances have all been spent. Please check out the above links to get the background and history behind some of the stuff discussed in this interview. If you got burned in this, we'd love to hear your take.
