Very Special Episode: Off the Deep End Ranked ft. Jason Bryant

from Beer‘d Al Podcast · host OddPods Media

Our series of “Weird Al” album rankings continues! This week, Lauren is joined by Jason Bryant, Hall of Fame sportswriter, broadcaster, and announcer, to discuss Al’s 1992 offering Off the Deep End. How do our rankings line up? Listen and find out!Jason Bryant is the founder of the Mat Talk Podcast Network, a network of podcasts centered around college and Olympic-level wrestling. He’s hosted, produced, and edited over 3,000 podcasts since 2008, including his main show, the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, which covers all levels of the sport - but also does cross over into other avenues with interviews with people in pop culture, music, business, and professional sports with wrestling backgrounds. A Hall of Fame wrestling writer, broadcaster, and journalist, he’s covered wrestling in 27 countries and has been the voice of major wrestling events around the world, including the NCAA wrestling championships, World Championships, and the last two Olympic Summer Games. His "Weird Al" fandom started at an early age after seeing "Fat" on TV in the 1980s and blossomed in the early 1990s when Off the Deep End was released. While he’s never been stuck in a closet with Vanna White, and doesn’t smell like Nirvana, he’s an Al fan through and through. One of the joys of this show is giving people the chance to talk about their love and passion for “Weird Al” music, and Jason had that to share in absolute droves. If you love “Weird Al,” you’ll love this conversation.Check out Jason’s network here: https://www.mattalkonline.comBeer’d Al is a grande member of the OddPods Media Network.Fittingly, our promo this week is for SPORTS!
