West III, TJ to his pals and confidantes, wrote a paper called “Thank You for Being a Friend:” The Politics, History, and Fandom of The Golden Girls and Its Feminist Message for the Coming Decade," and has since written extensively about The Golden Girls, television, politics, and more.
