We caught up with the Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City to talk about his stellar new 2025 CD Tippin’. He brought together his dream team of Christian McBride playing bass, and the phenomenal Chris Potter on horns. This is his first album as a leader for over 20 years. With over 200 recordings to his credit, the gifted Milwaukee-born, KC-based drummer, sideman, bandleader, entrepreneur, and educator has been changing the face of jazz for over three decades.
