We caught up with this fascinating musician to talk about her new 2024 CD Sensual. It’s an album that embodies the beauty of family, relationship, and the art of experiencing the fullness of life with every sense. It’s a sonic love letter from Rachel Z to her husband and the musicians in her life who have become closer than blood, using the medium of jazz and rock that have been so integral to her life. She has a long history of award-winning performances in the worlds of jazz and rock. She has 13 albums as bandleader and her work in internationally acclaimed bands is huge. She has played and toured with artists like Wayne Shorter, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Terri Lyne Carrington, Al Di Meola, and Regina Carter. It’s an incredible journey.
