Many were surprised by the loss of someone so successful at her craft and popular among her clients and fans to learn about the high rate of suicide among veterinary professionals. A recent report posted at AAHA.org found "U.S. veterinarians at greater risk for mental illness, suicidal thoughts, and depressive episodes than the general population."
