VFTB 062: Tim Berends — Viva Las Vegas!

from A View from the Bunker · host Derek & Sharon Gilbert

"TAKE AMERICA back!" is a common rallying cry for conservative Christians lately. We've met someone who may have the formula, if it's ever going to happen.Tim Berends is a 40-year radio veteran who's worked for Billy Graham, the 700 Club, and the Moody Bible Institute.  In 1986, Tim and his partner, Al Gross, were named the "top jocks" in Los Angeles by readers of the Herald-Examiner.Now, Tim works the mean streets of Las Vegas — handing out tracts and witnessing for Jesus Christ.  He's on schedule to hand out his half-millionth tract in Vegas sometime this year.  He's also the host of Jesus and Tim in Las Vegas on TruthTalk 630, KJSL in St. Louis (archives available for download here).  Tim talks about how a PK (preacher's kid) from Grand Rapids winds up on the Strip in Las Vegas, and what he's learned along the way.One correction: Derek was fired by the station that was knocked off the air three days later by a freak late November tornado in 1990, not 2000.  Tough getting old; can't remember what decade we're in.Don't forget: Sharon and Derek will speak at the Supernatural Science and Prophecy Conference in Canton, Ohio October 1 and 2.  Other featured speakers include Tom Horn of Raiders News Network, Russ Dizdar of Shatter The Darkness Ministries, and Jeff Radt of Look Up Fellowship.  Details at www.ControlledMinds.com.The Revelations Radio Network has a new website!
