That's the picture of the patriarch in Brian Godawa's new novel, Noah Primeval: Chronicles of the Nephilim Book I. Drawing on the Divine Council research of Dr. Mike Heiser, Brian paints a vivid picture of a man committed to keeping his people free of the servitude imposed by the small-G gods of the city-states of Sumer while at the same time refusing to submit to the will of Elohim — the One True God. We discuss his approach to writing the novel, the decisions Brian had to make when crafting an exciting plot while staying within biblical bounds, and the influence of the Divine Council concept on his understanding of the Old Testament.
